An update from our volunteers working at the Calais warehouse –
Yesterday was a very exciting day for us here in Calais, as 6 pallets of amazing items arrived at the warehouse, purchased by you from Leisure Fayre. These items included, 236 sleeping bags, 71 four man tents, 36 tarpaulins, 33 waterproof jackets and 552 blankets.
We really appreciate everyone who purchased these items, knowing full well many of you sacrificed Christmas present to support those less fortunate living in both the Calais and Dunkirk camps.
Without each and everyone one of you our on the ground operations would not be possible. Thank you so much from all of us here at Help Refugees and L’ Auberge.
We would not be able to do our work without your support and kindness. Many of the refugees we help are fleeing the conflict zones of Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Others are trying to escape political oppression in countries like Eritrea. All are human beings like us. As well as providing immediate physical assistance, we want to help refugees maintain their dignity.
