URGENT FUNDING APPEAL
WE CURRENTLY DON’T HAVE ENOUGH FOOD TO FEED EVERYONE IN THE CALAIS CAMP- NOT EVEN ONE MEAL A DAY
There is a severe food shortage in the Calais camp. People are going hungry. Refugee Community Kitchen need to double their food output in the Calais camp to 4000 meals per day but they need your help.
The authorities have closed the restaurants in camp and the number residents increases every day, with over 7000 registered in our last census and 8000 expected when the results of the latest census come in.
This problem is real and urgent. The Jungle Books restaurant, which specifically served 200 free meals per day to unaccompanied minors in the camp was amongst establishments to be shut down.
Food is a basic human right and a necessity for survival. Conditions in the camp are abhorrent and the team at Refugee Community Kitchen strive to ensure that everyone who wants it can at least receive one large, fresh, nutritious, hot meal every day.
All meals provided by Refugee Community Kitchen are energy-rich and crammed with fresh vegetables, providing vital nutrients. The team serve something different every day, always culturally appropriate, available at multiple locations throughout the camp.
Please give generously to enable Refugee Community Kitchen to provide 4000 meals every single day and put an end to hunger in the Calais camp.
Recurring donations allow them to commit to providing consistent support
