We are looking for a values-led, resilient and experienced COO who will oversee our operations and help us make an even greater impact for refugees and displaced people.
Help Refugees supports over 125 projects across Europe, the Middle East and on the US-Mexico border. We take a fieldwork-first approach to aid, establishing local networks and working with local partners to deliver projects that meet the real needs of refugees and displaced people. Our work has now reached over one million people – all powered by the hard work, dedication and love of over 35,000 volunteers. We know that aid alone is never enough. We amplify the voices of the people we work for, fighting for the rights of refugees and working to create a public narrative in which all refugees are welcome.
We are now looking for a values-led, resilient and experienced Chief Operating Officer who will oversee our organisation’s operations and procedures, and work to elevate the entire organisation so that we can make an even greater impact for refugees and displaced people.
The COO role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer. You will be responsible for a range of diverse business operations, so we need an experienced and effective leader with excellent people skills, business acumen and an exemplary work ethic. The COO will have the flexibility to tackle different areas of operation while taking a holistic, cross-functional view of the organisation. You will be an analytical thinker, a problem solver, and someone who gets things done, focusing on ensuring stability by bringing structure, process and prioritisation. You will excel at anticipating problems, communicating a clear vision, understanding what’s going to be asked next, and how to find solutions.
You will be a compassionate, visionary leader with proven experience of helping to grow agile and dynamic organisations. You will have extensive organisation management knowledge and experience in operations, finance, and human resources, with the ability to build strong relationships across a diverse, international stakeholder map. Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside a clear passion and commitment to Help Refugees’ mission.
