Calais Update: Hard at work at our Calais warehouse workshop

We have a workshop at our warehouse in Calais. There, we prepare the timber and other materials for ‘self-builds’, whereby we deliver refugees the materials to build their own shelters. This is an important way of empowering the people who live in the camp as well as increasing the speed at which we can help everyone to move out of their tents and into a more durable, weather-proof shelter.

We also use this workshop to pre-fabricate panels for shelters to be quickly erected in the camp. These are especially essential for vulnerable people, women and children. Many of these materials have been built using vital funds donated by Help Refugees.
