Be part of our #WarmWishes campaign – buy a gift for a refugee in need this winter!

This festive season we are running a ‘warm wishes’ campaign, inviting you to give the gift of warmth to someone who has nothing.  Many thousands of refugees; men, women and children, will spend this winter living in makeshift camps as they journey from conflict to safety. They travel only in the clothes they are wearing and most are not prepared for the cold harsh winter they must weather.

So this year we invite you to buy someone the ultimate Christmas gift, a donation on their behalf towards an essential item for a refugee.  Or why not forfeit one of your gifts and ask a loved one to buy this for you instead?

In exchange for your donation, or item chosen from online store leisurefayre.com, you’ll be able to download and print a hand drawn designer e-card by missmagpiefashionspy with text to confirm the nature of the gift given.

Products and e-cards are available via www.leisurefayre.com – all items for Help Refugees have a 20% discount and are delivered free of charge to our warehouse in Calais to be quickly distributed to those most in need.  You can purchase blanketstents, waterproofs or sleeping bags from our dedicated list there.  These items will be sent directly to refugees in need.  Click on the banner on the Leisure Fayre homepage to find out more.

You can also donate and receive an e-card via MyDonate – https://mydonate.bt.com/charities/helprefugees

Donations will go towards the following items and many more essential supplies:

  • £3.75 is the cost a warm hoodie in Idomeni, Greece.
  • £8 buys a basic sleeping bag in Idomeni.
  • £10 is the cost of a hot meal for family of 5 on Samos.
  • £32 is the cost of a warm sleeping bag or a 2 man tent in Calais.
  • £260 buys a wooden shelter for an entire family in Calais.

We hope you take part and send some #warmwishes to someone who really needs them.

Thank you!
